Overview
Capgemini is a global technology and consulting firm with a very large workforce in India. It hires fresh graduates through campus drives and off-campus programs for Analyst and Senior Analyst style roles, with exceptional candidates sometimes considered for higher-paying tracks. The company runs a mix of technology, engineering and business-process work, so roles can differ widely.
The usual stages
Candidates commonly describe the following pattern, with changes between drives:
- Online assessment: a timed test that often combines aptitude and reasoning, technical multiple-choice questions (including pseudocode and computer fundamentals), and in some drives a behavioural or game-based section and a communication or essay element.
- Coding round (for some tracks): a programming problem or two, often easy to medium.
- Technical interview: about your resume, projects and fundamentals.
- HR interview: communication, flexibility, relocation, work preferences and joining details.
What to expect in each stage
- Aptitude and reasoning: standard arithmetic and logic, designed for speed
- Pseudocode and technical MCQs: tracing code, understanding loops and recursion, basic networking and database questions, and some questions on object-oriented concepts
- Behavioural or game-based tasks: these are not about right or wrong answers; they look at how you respond to patterns, risk and decisions. Stay calm and consistent, and do not try to "game" them.
- Interviews: Capgemini interviewers often like clear basics and a learning mindset
Preparation plan
Weeks 1–2: pseudocode and aptitude. Practise tracing code by hand: write down variable values at each step. Combine with a daily timed aptitude set (aptitude guide).
Weeks 3–4: technical basics. Revise your main language, OOP concepts, SQL and operating system terms such as process, thread and deadlock (core CS subjects).
Weeks 4–5: coding. Solve easy array, string and number problems and practise full programs with input and output (online coding tips).
Final week: interviews. Prepare your introduction, your projects and answers to common HR questions (HR guide).
Tips for the interview
- Start with a short introduction covering education, skills, one project and why you want this role.
- When explaining a project, use this order: the problem, your role, the tools, the result, what you learnt.
- Show interest in the company's services and the kind of work you may do, without reciting the website.
- Be ready for questions about relocation and rotational shifts, and answer honestly.
Common mistakes
- Skipping pseudocode practice because it looks easy
- Not reading the instructions of the behavioural section
- Giving very long answers; aim for clear, structured replies
- Ignoring official channels and falling for "paid referral" offers (safety guide)
Frequently asked questions
Is the behavioural or game-based section marked right or wrong?
Candidates generally describe it as measuring how you respond to patterns, risk and decisions rather than scoring correct answers. Read the instructions, stay consistent and do not try to "game" it.
Do I need strong coding skills?
For standard analyst roles, clean fundamentals and the ability to trace pseudocode usually matter more than advanced algorithms. Higher-paying tracks tend to ask harder coding questions, so check the description of the role you are applying for.
Can I apply again if I do not clear it?
Many companies apply a waiting period before you can reapply, and the length differs by drive. The official announcement or portal states the rule, so check it before you plan your next attempt.
How long does it take to hear back?
Anywhere from a few days to several weeks, and joining dates can be months after the offer. Keep applying elsewhere while you wait.
Do eligibility rules include backlogs and education gaps?
Each announcement lists the criteria for percentage, backlogs and gaps. Read them before you start preparing so you do not spend weeks on a drive you are not eligible for.

What the company's own pages say (checked 28 October 2026)
Confirmed on the Capgemini India recruitment process page:
- Freshers may face an online aptitude test (logical reasoning, verbal ability, quantitative skills) and a coding or technical assessment. Some assessments are proctored.
- A group discussion is used for select roles. Interviews are a technical interview and an HR interview, usually after an HR screening by phone or video.
- The process typically takes a few weeks. Interview communication comes through Capgemini's official system, and anything from personal emails is not valid.
Not confirmed: the role titles Analyst and Senior Analyst, and the pseudocode and game-based sections reported by candidates. Capgemini's campus drive pages in our search results dated from 2019 to 2022, so use them only as history.
